The 5 Most Common Mistakes to Avoid When Planning Your Wedding!

So you are engaged, congratulations! Things are very exciting at this time, but it's about to get very very busy for you. With so much to plan, you want to make sure that you are getting it right. That's why I have created this list of things to avoid. These 5 things are from reports of past brides who regretted doing or not doing these when planning their wedding. I hope you can learn from them too, and avoid disappointment! Let's get stuck in...

1. Over Spending On Shoes

Ofcourse you don't want to hear this, but many brides who claim to have spent hundreds of pounds on their wedding shoes, regretted doing so. The main reason was because they switched to flats half way through the day, the guests couldn't even see them, and they will never wear them again! Food for thought.

2. Not Having A Wedding Video

Yes, a massive regret of past brides is not hiring a videographer. "we just trusted a family friend to shoot our film as we didn't budget for it, the video ended up shaky, not edited properly and just didn't bring back any feelings for us"

3. Bridesmaid Politics

"If I could go back, I would just choose my two sisters for bridesmaids. Some of my friends have drifted since the wedding, but my sisters always stuck by me"

Picking your bridesmaids can be hard, perhaps keep things simple and go with the above? It's a well reported problem!

4. Missed Time With Guests

It has been said that people regret not spending more time with their guests. Some photographers will pull you away for an hour at the only time you get to have time with guests, be careful!

5. Not Dancing with Father

That's right, number 5 is the regret of not dancing with their father after the first dance with their partner. I guess it's a cute moment to have and look back on, perhaps take it into account when organising the day?

I hope this list has shed some light on what things you should think about. For more tips keep an eye on my blog!
